Winter Wonderland Twinklefest Windows

Olympia Downtown Alliance approached OAA with a request to engage local student artists to create winter themed windows for the City’s Holiday lights event, Oly Twinklefest. Olympia Artspace Board Members and volunteers led by Lucy Gentry and Tracy Jameson and volunteers created four beautiful installations to highlight the student’s work.

Over 100 student-designed mandalas and soaring doves and student decorated birds in a peaceful exhibit of light and flight.

Description- Talented students painted woodland animal themed painting which are displayed in a fanciful forest complete with trees made from children’s book pages and a sparkling brook.

We provided over 175 art kits made up of winter bird images, pastels, and watercolor pencils to students to decorate their hand-cut birds. These beautifully decorated feathered friends and lighted lanterns are displayed on found branches turned frosty trees with a snowy backdrop of paper chains created from sheet music brings this happy scene together.
