Olympia Artspace Alliance

Advancing Olympia’s arts environment by supporting local artists and advocating for affordable live, work, and exhibition space.

Olympia artists need space to create and share their work.

About Us

For 15 years OAA has created space and opportunities for individual artists in the South Puget Sound to support and develop their work. Through grant making, paid programs, public gallery curation, and regular events we work to connect and grow our arts community in the South Puget Sound.

The OAA runs several year-round programs and hosts annual opportunities for local artists to share their work, to apply for studio-space grants, to attend free artist mingles, and much more.

Help us nurture and grow the arts in the South Puget Sound!

The Olympia Artspace Alliance values art as a powerful medium of change to create a healthy, vibrant, and more equitable community. And we know that artists need space: space to create, space to exhibit their work, space to rehearse, and space to connect. Your support helps artists find and connect with creative space and ensures artists can continue to work and thrive in the years to come.

We work to provide opportunity and direct lines of funding for artists in the South Puget Sound.

Our mission is to preserve, develop, and advocate for affordable live, work, and exhibition space for artists in Olympia, Washington, and we are committed to compensating artists, while also building a culture of entrepreneurship and access to the arts. Since 2019 we have supported 115 local artists, more than 1,000 student artists, and paid $92,000 in stipends to support their work.

“Like most artists, I need studio space where I can do serious work. My work thrives when I have flexible space, uninterrupted time, and a place where I can repeatedly return — all of which acknowledges and supports the importance of the effort.”

— Jean Mandeberg, Artist
