Donate to the OAA and Help Us Provide Support for Our Local Artists

Dear Friends,

We at Olympia Artspace Alliance are asking for your financial help to support local artists.

OAA is celebrating our 10 Year Anniversary and our mission is more important than ever. Olympia’s artist community was hit hard by the pandemic and economic shutdown. These challenges will continue during the recovery, and OAA is well positioned to continue to provide much-needed support and stability to our local artists. OAA is passionate about Olympia’s artist community.

In 2020, OAA supported 20 local artists and more than 200 student artists, funding 21 public art projects, providing more than $22,000 to support their work:

  • Hiring 13 artists to create original works on boards covering downtown windows during the 2020 pandemic shutdown. (Artists on Board project.)

  • Contracting with 11 local artists to create and install exhibitions in the windows of The Goldberg Building at Capitol Way and Fourth, with the support of Olympia Federal Savings.

  • Creating Winter Wonderland, showcasing the work of students and art educators in a dazzling display for the Holiday season.

  • Supporting four artists with “Space Grants” - $500 each - to offset space-related costs incurred April-June 2021, such as rent, utilities, and rehearsal space.

I am grateful for the opportunity to create during the pandemic due to the cancellation of art shows.” – Julie Simpson, artist, Artists on Board

These amazing projects, pockets of art, talent and imagination are what make Olympia Olympia. Thank you!” – written comment on 2019 Storefronts exhibition.

OAA remains focused on our mission to preserve, develop and advocate for affordable live work and exhibition space for artists in Olympia.
