Rose Metting
Artist Statement:
Bright colors make me feel alive. I love contemplating colors: thinking about which colors look even more radiant when placed next to one another, thinking about what it would be like to have a butterfly’s or Mantis Shrimp’s eyes – two creatures who can see a broader and richer spectrum of the rainbow than we can.
Each Jelly Bean Blob is carefully considered. Each is a complete microcosm of color and energy unto itself, but it is only when they are arranged in a collection that they vibrate off of each other to create a complete piece. I love to see how individual works can come together to make something even more illustrious than what they would be by themselves.
My hope for these Jelly Bean Blobs is to bring color, life and community to this long forgotten corner of our city.
